Charlottesville resident Artist Patsy M Walsh discovered her talents many years ago in her homeland of Ireland. This site brings together a selection of her finest works.
Patsy Walsh began her early artistic career in the green valleys of southeastern Ireland, County Carlow. She moved to Europe to attend college in Paris, France. Cathching the travel bug, she visited her family and friends around Europe often. Patsy began painting while on these trips, mainly watercolors and pencil drawing. An early interest in "the far east" eventually brought her to Southeast Asia where she painted her first "plein air" works, which has become her trademark. She continued on to the U.S., Mexico and the Caribbean. She began to show and sell her artwork in the early 1980’s in St. Barts, French West Indies. In the U.S. she became a member of the Nantucket Artist’s Association and was co-owner of a gallery there. Currently residing in beautiful Charlottesville, Virginia, she shows her work regularly in the Downtown area. She is a member of the popular cooperative gallery "C'ville Arts". Patsy is well known locally for her paintings of the farmer's City market, where she paints "en plein air" every Saturday morning from April to November.
